The Mumbai Local

The local is the lifeblood of Mumbai.  Three lines transecting the island, the place where people from all walks of life come together, pushing, fighting, clambering to get onto the train.  The tracks are vibrant places of life.

The local plays into my everyday, but is often too crowded to take in the life that goes on day in and day out on the tracks.  I took the opportunity of a Mumbai calm afternoon to ride the train and watch how people use the space.
